Ski hire La Chapelle d Abondance - La Chapelle d Abondance is one of the smallest winter sports villages that are part of Les Portes du Soleil. The location of this small ski holiday destination is between Abondance and Châtel and around 1000 meters in altitude. The large chalets with colorful shutters and many places where you can view and buy Art, the village is known as a place for creative people. The ski resort of Portes du Soleil is a collection of a 14 destinations in the Haute Savoie spread across France and Switzerland linked together. The winter sports area is enormous, and a veritable dream for the demanding Skifan and beginning skier. Plaine Dranse, perhaps the most beautiful slopes of the area, starting from Avoriaz is easily accessible. This valley has plenty to offer for every skiers and snowboarders of every skill-level. Beginners often attract to the area around Le Pleney directly accessible by ski-tram or cabinelift. On of the most challenging slopes can be found around the famous Col de Joux Plane, where beautiful long black go all the way down into the valley. In the Swiss part is the Mur at Chavanette very challenging. La Chapelle d Abondance has access to 430 individual pistes, served by 209 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in La Chapelle d Abondance itself, with 75km of pisted ski runs, the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Portes du Soleil ski resorts of Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Grande Terche, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine, Saint Jean d'Aulps, Champoussin, Champéry, Les Crosets, Morgins and Torgon. For snowboarders there are plate-lifts, lots of off-piste opportunities and some great boardercross slopes and snowparks. The off-piste runs from the Col du Fornet are great, and offer almost all year round an abundence of powder. Snowboarders that like to descend past the tree lines can enjoy beautifull areas in the Les Gets Neighbourhood.
